Pizza is a popular food for a reason: you can’t beat the steamy, cheesy, saucy punch it delivers. This recipe, courtesy of Mrs. Esti Barker is far healthier for your budget than the commercial variety- and tastes just as good. Makes two cookie sheet-sized pies.

Dough:

4.5 cups all-purpose flour
1.5 cups lukewarm water
2.25 tsp. (1 envelope) dry yeast
2 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. olive oil

Knead all ingredients together until smooth and elastic. Oil and cover dough. Let rise for 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 415° F.

Roll dough out onto cookie sheets. Top with sauce and cheese (one 8 oz. bag of shredded pizza cheese is exactly enough for one cookie sheet.) Add additional toppings to your liking.

Bake for 13-15 minutes.

How about a home made sauce to go with it?
It is more economical to make it than to buy it.
Here is a recipe that I enjoy using.
2 1/2 cups tomato sauce ( can also use tomato paste and add water to it)
    1-2 T oil
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. basil
