Deep fried french fries are delicious, but many of us don’t appreciate the high fat content that all that oil adds. These fries are the perfect solution, and as an added bonus, they’re really easy to make.

Ingredients:

8 medium potatoes or 4 sweet potatoes
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. oil

Scrub and cut potatoes into french fry shape; no need to peel. Coat with salt and oil. Spread on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350F for 45 minutes. Scrumptious and much healthier than real fries! If you prefer a richer taste, simply add more oil.

Start baking at 350, but finish at 400 to get a better crisp. For spicy fries use hot paprika and garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, or your own spice mixture. If you want lower fat, spray the cookie sheet with cooking spray (pam etc.), season the fries, and spray on top of the fries.

works well with plantain, sweet potato, or other starchy vegetable as well
